To this end, we first construct its local solutions by the standard iteration technique, then we deduce the basic energy estimate by constructing a convex entropy-entropy flux pair to this system. Moreover, the L∞-estimates and H^2-estimates of solutions are obtained through some delicate estimates. In our results, we do not ask the far fields of the initial data to be equal and the initial data can be arbitrarily large which generalize the result obtained in [7].展开更多

Precisely, we show that the corresponding Cauchy problem admits a unique global solution (v (x,t), u(x, t)) and such a solution tends time-asymptotically to the corresponding nonlinear diffusion wave ((v|-)(x,t),(u|-)(x,t)) governed by the classical Darcy's law provided that the corresponding prescribed initial error function lies in and is sufficiently small. Furthermore, the Lp (2≤p≤ +∞) convergence rates of the solutions are also obtained.展开更多

These models can be then formulated as the Navier-Stokes equations for exothermically reacting compressible fluids. We first establish the existence and dynamic behavior, including stability, regularity, and large-time behavior, of global discontinuous solutions of large oscillation to the Navier-Stokes equations with constant adiabatic exponent γ and specific heat Cv. Our approach for the existence and regularity is to combine the difference approximation techniques with the energy methods, total variation estimates, and weak convergence arguments to deal with large jump discontinuities; and for large-time behavior is an a posteriori argument directly from the weak form of the equations. The approach and ideas we develop here can be applied to solving a more complicated model where γand cv vary as the phase changes; and we then describe this model in detail and contrast the results on the asymptotic behavior of the solutions of these two different models. We also discuss other physical models describing dynamic combustion.展开更多

The singular limit we consider corresponds to the physical problem of letting the Bouguer number infinite while keeping the Boltzmann number constant. In the case when the corresponding Euler system admits a contact discontinuity wave, Wang and Xie (2011) [12] recently verified this singular limit and proved that the solution of the compressible radiation hydrodynamics model converges to the strong contact 1 discontinuity wave in the L∞-norm away from the discontinuity line at a rate of ε1/4, as the reciprocal of the Bouguer number tends to zero. In this paper, Wang and Xie's convergence rate is improved to ε7/8 by introducing a new a priori assumption and some refined energy estimates. Moreover, it is shown that the radiation flux q tends to zero in the L∞-norm away from the discontinuity line, at a convergence rate as the reciprocal of the Bouguer number tends to zero.展开更多

In this paper, we present stability analysis for the reduced problem with LABCs on the bounded computational domain by the energy estimate, and discuss a class of modified versions of LABCs. To prove the stability analysis of the re- duced problem, we turn to the technique of some auxiliary variables which reduces the higher-order derivatives in LABCs into a family of equations with lower-order derivatives. Furthermore, we extend the strategy to the stability analysis of two-dimensional problems by carefully dealing with the LABCs at corners. Numerical examples are given to demon- strate the effectiveness of our boundary conditions and validate the theoretical analysis.展开更多
