In Chinese society,the compound of Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism builds the philosophical foundation of help\|seeking behaviors and assistance\|providing behaviors.In addition,the mutual\|trust forms the soical bas...In Chinese society,the compound of Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism builds the philosophical foundation of help\|seeking behaviors and assistance\|providing behaviors.In addition,the mutual\|trust forms the soical basis of facilitating help\|seeking and assistance\|providing processes.In this article,the author argues that,a dual model of help\|seeking and assistance\|providing has been constructed in China since 1949,which is symbolized both by the civic helping system in rural areas and by the governmental welfare system.The former has been constructed on the basis of differentiated soical relationship centering on the family network,the latter,however,has been created on the basis of status.Focusing on relationship between culture and helping profession,the author summarizes three features of the model of help\|seeking and assistance\|providing and meanwhile discusses the implication of developing humanism social work practice in China.展开更多
