The peak concentrations are considered to be representative of different background levels for certain processes. The peak concentrations are compared with the corresponding mean (median) concentrations, and the suitability and limitations of the mean (median) values as the background levels are discussed. The mean (median) values might represent the background concentrations in the region under some circumstances, but in other cases these values often underestimate or overestimate the true background concentrations owing to the transport of pollutants and other factors. The effects of air masses transported from different regions on the pollutant background concentrations are obtained by analyzing the 72-hour backward trajectories of air masses 100m above the ground at JSH, These trajectories are estimated using the HYSPLIT model and then clustered for the measurement period. The spatial distribution and seasonal variations of trajectories and the corresponding mean concentrations of O3, SO〉 NOx and CO for different clusters are analyzed. After filtering the seasonal changes in pollutant concentrations, the relative influences of air masses from different regions are obtained. The results show that JSH can be used to obtain the atmospheric background information of different air masses originating from or passing over the Yangtze River Delta, Central South China and the Jianghan Plain. Air masses from Central China, South China, and the western Yangtze River Delta contribute significantly to O3 at JSH. Air masses from the north and northeast of JSH (i.e., the Jianghan Plain, Huang-Huai Plain and North China Plain) and the south (Central South China) contribute significantly to SO2, CO and NOx concentra展开更多

The active gases should be removed before inletting to mass spectrometers for the analyses. The normal noble gas preparation systems can clean up most geological samples. However, authigenic minerals from sedimentary rocks in oil/gas fields contain organic matter, which cannot be cleaned up by the normal preparation systems and thus influence the noble gas analyses. We introduce a novel gas purification system (PRC patent No. ZL201320117751.2), which includes several reversible purification pumps with different absorbing and degassing temperatures. It can well clean up water steam, carbon dioxide and organic gas- es. Mica minerals are often used for 40Ar/39Ar dating. A muscovite sample (2082MS) which could not be cleaned up by the normal preparation system with two SAES NP10 getters, becomes the test sample for a comparative experiment in this study. The experiment is assigned into 4 sections with the organic gas removal system (OGRS) "Closed/Opened" in turn. When the OGRS is closed only with two NP10 getters for purification, the 40At intensities increase in curves with inlet time because of impurities, the 40Ar/39Ar dating results yield age errors about +2%-±1% (20-). When the OGRS is opened for purification, in contrast, the 40Ar intensities decrease linearly with inlet time. This indicates that the gases have been cleaned up effectively, and the 40Ar/39Ar results yield ages with errors in ±0.4%. The OGRS is very helpful to obtain high-quality analysis data.展开更多

The obtained materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM and BET, The VOx nanorods (80-120 nm diameter and 1-4 μm length) were synthesized in 25 vol% EtOH/(EtOH + H20) and the open-ended multiwalled VOx nanotube (50-100 nm inner diameter, 110-180 nm outer diameter and 0,5-2 pm length) synthesized in 50 vol% EtOH/(EtOH + H20). VOx nanotuhes performed the superior NH3-SCR activity under a gas hourly space velocity of 12,000 h-1 at low temperature of 250 ~C (NOx conversion of 893g & N2 selectivity of 100%), while most of the developed Vanadia base catalysts are active at high temperature (〉350 ℃). The superior NH3-SCR activity ofVOx nanotubes at low tem- perature is related to nanocrystalline structure, special nanotube morphology as well as high specific surface area.展开更多
