A suite of potassic basalts younger than 55 Ma from the Saga area of western Tibet has been reported. The geochemical characteristics of these rocks distinguish themselves from other potassicltrapotassic volcanic rocks in Tibet, such as positive Nb, Ta, and Ti anomalies and strong enrichment in large ion lithophile elements (LILE), suggesting that phlogopite, rutile and/or sphene might have originated from the mantle source. These basalts are also characterized by a very wide range of 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.709 043-0.711 915) and relatively high 143Nd/,44Nd ratios (0.512 426-0.512 470,εNd=-4.60 to -3.87). We propose a petrogenetic model for the Saga potassic rocks in which the lithospheric mantle source was infiltrated by a volatilerich (H2O, CO2) and low-degree silicate melt derived from the asthenosphere in the Middle to Late Proterozoic. After the initial Indo-Asian collision, Neo-Tethyan slab breakoff resulted in the partial melting of the previously metasomatized lithospheric mantle and the formation of the Saga potassic rocks. It is likely that the eruption of these volcanic rocks lasted at least 10 Ma.展开更多

The extraction of streams using digital elevation models (DEMs) presents many advantages. However it is very sensitive to the uncertainty of the elevation datasets used. The main aim of this paper is to implement geostatistical simulations and assess the propagated uncertainty and map the error of location streams. First, point sampled elevations are used to fit a variogram model. Next two hundred DEM realizations are generated using conditional sequential Gaussian simulation;the stream network map is extracted for each of these realizations, and the collection of stream networks is analyzed to quantify the error propagation. At each grid cell, the probability of the occurrence of a stream and the propagated error are estimated. The more probable stream network are delineated and compared with the digital stream network derived from topographic map. The method is illustrated using a small dataset (8742 sampled elevations) for Anaguid Saharan platform. All computations are run in two free softwares: R and SAGA. R is used to fit variogram and to run sequential Gaussian simulation. SAGA is used to extract streams via RSAGA library.展开更多

This method makes full use of the advantages of SAGA and can handle under-/over- constraint problems naturally. It has advantages (due to its not being sensitive to the initial values) over the Newton-Raphson method, and its yielding of multiple solutions, is an advantage over other optimal methods for multi-solution constraint system. Our experiments have proved the robustness and efficiency of this method.展开更多

The typical general plot mode distinguishes this genre from other literary forms.Predicted on the archetypal theories, Rui Yuping summarizes the plot mode of initiation stories as follows: innocence -disillusionment -epiphany, which has been successfully applied to some classic novels, such as Mark Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and J.D.Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye, etc. Porter's "Miranda Saga" follows this general mode thus demonstrating it as a good illustration ofinitiation stories. In the first place, it extends the application and content of initiation stories. In the second place, it provides a new point of view for the study of Porter.展开更多
