The rectangular wire winding AC electrical machine has drawn extensive attention due to their high slot fill factor,good heat dissipation,strong rigidity and short end-windings,which can be potential candidates for so...The rectangular wire winding AC electrical machine has drawn extensive attention due to their high slot fill factor,good heat dissipation,strong rigidity and short end-windings,which can be potential candidates for some traction application so as to enhance torque density,improve efficiency,decrease vibration and weaken noise,etc.In this paper,based on the complex process craft and the electromagnetic performance,a comprehensive and systematical overview on the rectangular wire windings AC electrical machine is introduced.According to the process craft,the different type of the rectangular wire windings,the different inserting direction of the rectangular wire windings and the insulation structure have been compared and analyzed.Furthermore,the detailed rectangular wire windings connection is researched and the general design guideline has been concluded.Especially,the performance of rectangular wire windings AC machine has been presented,with emphasis on the measure of improving the bigger AC copper losses at the high speed condition due to the distinguished proximity and skin effects.Finally,the future trend of the rectangular wire windings AC electrical machine is prospected.展开更多

The excitation sufficiently enables“...The dynamics of flapping motion of a rectangular jet under acoustic excitation is studied experimentally by means of hot-wire measurement and flow visualization with smoke method. The excitation sufficiently enables“phase-lock”, which permitted us to extract the organized wave motion from a background field of finite turbulent fluctuations. The mean and fluctuation velocity are investigated and focused on the excitation frequency and the Reynolds number. As the excitation frequency decreases, it was found that the jet flapping and the jet spread were enhanced. The excitation with sub-harmonic frequency has significant effects on the rectangular jet behavior. The maximum value of the periodic velocity fluctuation strongly depends on the excitation frequency.展开更多
By employing the dielectric continuum model and Loudon's uniaxial crystal model, the interface optical (IO) phonon modes in a freestanding quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) wurtzite rectangular quantum wire are derived...By employing the dielectric continuum model and Loudon's uniaxial crystal model, the interface optical (IO) phonon modes in a freestanding quasi-one-dimensional (Q1D) wurtzite rectangular quantum wire are derived and analyzed. Numerical calculation on a freestanding wurtzite GaN quantum wire is performed. The resulte reveal that the dispersion frequencies of IO modes sensitively depend on the geometric structures of the Q1D wurtzite rectangular quantum wires, the free wave-number kz in z-direction and the dielectric constant of the nonpolar matrix. The degenerating behavior of the IO modes in Q1D wurtzite rectangular quantum wire has been clearly observed in the case of small wave-number kz and Iarge ratio of length to width of the rectangular crossing profile. The limited frequency behaviors of IO modes have been analyzed deeply, and detailed comparisons with those in wurtzite planar quantum wells and cylindrical quantum wires are also done. The present theories can be looked on as a generalization of that in isotropic rectangular quantum wires, and it can naturally reduce to the case of Q1D isotropic quantum wires once the anisotropy of the wurtzite material is ignored.展开更多
Design and experimental studies on a hybrid excitation flux switching motor as a traction motor for hybrid electric vehicles drive are presented.A stator body of the motor consists of not only laminated silicon-iron e...Design and experimental studies on a hybrid excitation flux switching motor as a traction motor for hybrid electric vehicles drive are presented.A stator body of the motor consists of not only laminated silicon-iron electromagnetic steel and three-phase armature windings,but also both of field excitation coils and permanent magnets working together as a variable field magnetomotive force source.On the other hand,a rotor is composed of just laminated silicon-iron electromagnetic steel with salient poles like switched reluctance motor.To bring out the best in drive performances of the hybrid excitation flux switching motor as a variable flux motor for the application,each material adopted for the stator and rotor body should be designed properly in terms of motor efficiency,maximum torque and power densities and so forth.As some of them,in this paper,thinner silicon-iron electromagnetic steel sheet and permanent magnets with high remanent and low amount of Dysprosium used are applied for achieving higher motor efficiency.Moreover,all coils wound flatwise and edgewise using rectangular wires are introduced to realizing high filling factor for reduced copper losses.Experimental tests using a 60kW prototype of the motor demonstrates the designed motor has good motor efficiency under frequent operating points expected for the target vehicle drive.展开更多
