Both the compounds exhibit TPA properties, and the TPA values determined by z-scan measurement are 10 GM and 39 GM for SK-G1 and NT-G1, respectively, at wavelength 80Ohm. Time-resolved spectroscopic techniques are employed to further explore the excited state dynamics of NT-G l with larger TPA cross section. The research results show that there is an ultrafast intraband energy transfer process (about 3ps) before the formation of charge transfer state with a relatively long lifetime.展开更多
Three soluble polystyrene grafted multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) samples are synthesized, and their optical performance and nonlinear scattering properties are investigated by z-scan method using nanosecond pul...Three soluble polystyrene grafted multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) samples are synthesized, and their optical performance and nonlinear scattering properties are investigated by z-scan method using nanosecond pulses of 532 nm from a frequency-doubled Q-switched Nd: YLF laser. Analysis of the experimental results shows that other than nonlinear scattering, nonlinear absorption plays a major role in optical limiting performance of these stable and well-dispersed suspensions. These new synthesized materials which can be better dispersed in common organic solvents than MWNT itself can be considered as potential sources for further optical applications.展开更多

N-acetamide C60 nitride (N-acetamide-1,2-dihydro-1,2-aza-fullerene[60]) has been synthesized by the reaction of C60 and azidoacetamide and initially characterized. Its mechanism was that the objective product is formed through intermediate triazoline. The computational study shows that N-nitride structure is thermodynamically more stable by using the semi-empirical AM1 SCF-MO method. The properties of optical limiting were tested by using double frequency Nd: YAG pulse laser system and showed that the optical limiting mechanism is reverse saturation absorption. At wavelength of 532 nm, compared with optical limiting for ns pulse, this new material has good optical limiting character for ps pulse. At wavelength of 707 nm. the capacity of optical limiting of the derivative is prior to C60-展开更多
