I dutifully read all I could the night before the procedure and became familiar with the names of Barfield, Macomber and Sanders, Tulloch, MacLeod, Ivanissevich, Palomo, Amelar and Dubin and others who had written about varicoceles being associated with abnormal semen parameters and a potentially surgically correctable cause of male infertility.展开更多

The Qinghai-Tibet plateau consists of multiple terranes, with a complex geological history, including the evo- lution of the Tethys Ocean basin, the convergence of terranes and island arcs, multiple subductions, multiple collisions and multiple orogens, over a long period of action of continental dynamic processes. Before the Indian and the Asian plates collided, during the Early Paleozoic, it was already a large orogen and terrane collision complex. As a result of the collision of the Indian and Asian plates, the fast uplift of Qinghai- Tibet plateau became the most magnificent event on the earth during the Cenozoic. It formed a vast, seemingly boundless high plateau with borders consisting of mountain chains with very high peaks, and steep gorges.展开更多

As one of the largest mountain ranges in Central Asia and Northwest China, the Tianshan contains 15 935 glaciers with a total area of 15 416 km2. These glaciers are a vital source of water for more than 100 million people and for wildlife ecosystems in this vast arid and semi-arid land. Urumqi Glacier No. 1, the best monitored glacier in China, is located at the headwaters of the Urumqi River in eastern Tianshan and is within the core area of Central Asia.展开更多

The compilation includes 17 articles addressing diverse topics re- lated to unconventional oil and gas resources that were pub- lished by Journal of Earth Science (YES). Each article included in the compilation represents a stand-alone analysis and re- search on a relevant topic that has passed the journal's rigorous peer-review editorial system. Collectively, these articles pro- vide key insight to the progress being made towards better understanding of new techniques in unconventional oil and gas resources.展开更多
