Therefore, high precision exploration methods are needed. High density spatial sampling is a new technology to increase the accuracy of seismic exploration. We briefly discuss point source and receiver technology, analyze the high density spatial sampling in situ method, introduce the symmetric sampling principles presented by Gijs J. O. Vermeer, and discuss high density spatial sampling technology from the point of view of wave field continuity. We emphasize the analysis of the high density spatial sampling characteristics, including the high density first break advantages for investigation of near surface structure, improving static correction precision, the use of dense receiver spacing at short offsets to increase the effective coverage at shallow depth, and the accuracy of reflection imaging. Coherent noise is not aliased and the noise analysis precision and suppression increases as a result. High density spatial sampling enhances wave field continuity and the accuracy of various mathematical transforms, which benefits wave field separation. Finally, we point out that the difficult part of high density spatial sampling technology is the data processing. More research needs to be done on the methods of analyzing and processing huge amounts of seismic data.展开更多

It is founded that flat pipe is superior to round pipe for the electromagnetic removal of inclusion, and DC current can get a higher removal efficiency than A C current due to absence of skin phenomenon. Under usual condition, a removal efficiency of 52% for 10μm inclusion or more than 92% for 20μm inclusion can be achieved by imposing a current density of 3×106A/m2 in a flat pipe.展开更多

The interactions among these major components are very complicated. Many approaches were proposed to study isolated tide and wind-driven currents or run-off based on the measured velocity, with all its components taken as a whole. In this article, firstly, based on the actual hydrodynamic characteristics of estuarine and coastal waters, an approach is proposed to separate the measured velocity by considering the theoretical current velocity profiles and using the least squares method. The vertical structures of tidal, wind-driven currents, density current and runoff can be obtained as well as their proportions in the measured velocity. Then, this approach is applied to the analysis of velocity data obtained in the North Branch of Yangtze River estuary and of laboratory test data. The results are found to be satisfactory. Finally, this approach is used to separate the measured velocity in the South Branch of Yangtze River estuary, to determine not only the bed friction velocity and roughness height, but also the surface wind stress, and to estimate the wind velocity data above the water surface. The results show that this method is simple in principle, practical in use, and reasonable in obtained results. So it can be used to effectively analyze the field data.展开更多

Two (2) sampling areas were identified and selected for the presence of these microcontaminants using density separation, filtration and microscopic identification. Results reveal a total of 35 microplastics observed from the water samples collected, with this the microplastics from Baybay boulevard with an average of 0.79 microplastics per Liter, while the average microplastic contamination in Hilangagan beach resort was calculated at 0.43 microplastics per Liter. This sums up to an average of 0.49 microplastics per Liter for both sampling sites in Borongan City.展开更多
