Paradigms and Paradox in the Ethylene Signaling Pathway and Interaction Network 被引量:24

Phytohormone ethylene plays pivotal roles in plant response to developmental and environmental signals. During the past few years, the emerging evidence has led us to a new understanding of the signaling mechanisms and regulatory networks of the ethylene action. In this review, we focus on the major advances made in the past three years, particularly the findings leading to new paradigms and the observations under debate. With the recent demonstration of the regulation of the protein stability of numerous key signaling components including EIN3, ELL1, EIN2, ETR2, EBFI/EBF2, and ETPI/ETP2, we highlight proteasome-dependent protein degradation as an essential regulatory mechanism that is widely adopted in the ethylene signaling pathway. We also discuss the implication of the negative feedback mechanism in the ethylene signaling pathway in light of ethylene-induced ETR2 and EBF2 gene expression. Meanwhile, we summarize the controversy on the involvement of MKK9-MPK3/6 cascade in the ethylene signaling versus biosynthesis pathway, and discuss the possible role of this MAPK module in the ethylene action. Finally, we describe the complex interactions between ethylene and other signaling pathways including auxin, light, and plant innate immunity, and propose that EIN3/ EIL1 act as a convergence point in the ethylene-initiated signaling network. 展开更多

Calvarial bones are connected by fibrous sutures. These sutures provide a niche environment that includes mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs), osteoblasts, and osteoclasts, which help maintain calvarial bone homeostasis and repair. Abnormal function of osteogenic cells or diminished MSCs within the cranial suture can lead to skull defects, such as craniosynostosis. Despite the important function of each of these cell types within the cranial suture, we have limited knowledge about the role that crosstalk between them may play in regulating calvarial bone homeostasis and injury repair. Here we show that suture MSCs give rise to osteoprogenitors that show active bone morphogenetic protein(BMP) signalling and depend on BMP-mediated Indian hedgehog(IHH) signalling to balance osteogenesis and osteoclastogenesis activity. IHH signalling and receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-Β ligand(RANKL) may function synergistically to promote the differentiation and resorption activity of osteoclasts. Loss of Bmpr1a in MSCs leads to downregulation of hedgehog(Hh) signalling and diminished cranial sutures. Significantly, activation of Hh signalling partially restores suture morphology in Bmpr1a mutant mice, suggesting the functional importance of BMP-mediated Hh signalling in regulating suture tissue homeostasis. Furthermore, there is an increased number of CD200+ cells in Bmpr1a mutant mice, which may also contribute to the inhibited osteoclast activity in the sutures of mutant mice. Finally, suture MSCs require BMPmediated Hh signalling during the repair of calvarial bone defects after injury. Collectively, our studies reveal the molecular and cellular mechanisms governing cell–cell interactions within the cranial suture that regulate calvarial bone homeostasis and repair. 展开更多

全球气候治理中科学与政治的关系主要体现在评估与谈判上。国际气候评估与谈判通过议程、评审及机制协调所产生的影响已成为全球气候治理的主要特征。纵观过去30年的国际气候治理历史,两者大体呈现出评估推动谈判、大国否定评估、评估... 全球气候治理中科学与政治的关系主要体现在评估与谈判上。国际气候评估与谈判通过议程、评审及机制协调所产生的影响已成为全球气候治理的主要特征。纵观过去30年的国际气候治理历史,两者大体呈现出评估推动谈判、大国否定评估、评估破坏谈判、谈判支配评估的关系。两者形成了以下规律:气候领域内科学不确定性越高,国际谈判越需要评估的持续参与;评估结论在国际谈判中接受度越高,其影响力越大,而评估机构的影响力越大,越需要在国际谈判进程中证明其可靠性;国际气候评估机构影响力越大,大国越容易干预评估过程和控制评估结论。两者关系的变迁源于两个维度:一是评估内部的科学共识与制度设计开放性。共识度越高、评估制度设计越具开放性,评估越容易推动谈判的进程。二是外部因素,如大国干预及评估结论在传播中的影响。大国过度干预评估,或是评估在传播中被国际媒体误用,会导致评估与谈判形成消极关系。 展开更多

Global environmental cooperation serves as an important part in the Chinese ideal of building a Community with a Shared Future for all Human Beings. The report of 19 th CPC National Congress indicates that China is committed to proactive mitigation under the Paris Agreement and further participating in global environmental governance under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, and both of which are largely integrated to the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI). BRI are also closely linked with South-South environmental and climate cooperation proposed by China from previous UN summits. Based on shared ideas, intersected agendas, and compatible governance approaches, BRI and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development grow increasingly relevant and they might form synergies based on increasingly interactive relations. In sum,seeking and intensifying the linkages between BRI and 2030 sustainable development goals(SDGs) could address global environmental governance deficits and enhance cooperation among nations. 展开更多

Genome-Wide Analysis Regulatory Network of Photomorphogenesis Revealed the Complex Brassinosteroid Effects in 被引量:4

Light and brassinosteroids (BRs) have been proved to be crucial in regulating plant growth and development; however, the mechanism of how they synergistically function is still largely unknown. To explore the underlying mechanisms in photomorphogenesis, genome-wide analyses were carried out through examining the gene expressions of the dark-grown WT or BR biosynthesis-defective mutant det2 seedlings in the presence of light stimuli or exogenous Brassinolide (BL). Results showed that BR deficiency stimulates, while BL treatment suppresses, the expressions of lightresponsive genes and photomorphogenesis, confirming the negative effects of BR in photomorphogenesis. This is consistent with the specific effects of BR on the expression of genes involved in cell wall modification, cellular metabolism and energy utilization during dark-light transition. Further analysis revealed that hormone biosynthesis and signaling-related genes, especially those of auxin, were altered under BL treatment or light stimuli, indicating that BR may modulate photomorphogenesis through synergetic regulation with other hormones. Additionally, suppressed ubiquitin-cycle pathway during light-dark transition hinted the presence of a complicated network among light, hormone, and protein degradation. The study provides the direct evidence of BR effects in photomorphogenesis and identified the genes involved in BR and light signaling pathway, which will help to elucidate the molecular mechanism of plant photomorphogenesis. 展开更多

Upper Triassic sedimentary systems of both the Arabian Plate and the Germanic Basin reveal climate- and plate tectonic-forced effects through certain time-intervals experienced by architectural elements, lithofacies types, unconformities, flash flood deposits, maximum flooding surfaces/sequence boundary (MFS/SB), mineralogy, and isotope anomalies. Further, Moon recession and changes of Earth’s rotation velocity (core/mantle boundary) are associated with multiple impacting and large igneous provinces/Mid Oceanic Ridge Basalt, LIP/MORB-rifting/degassing. While acidification (by degassing, sturz-rain) does influence tectosilicates and carbonates, montmorillonite represents a key mineral as transformation of volcanic/impact glass (Tephra) to be found as co-components in and in certain pelite units as “boundary clay-suspicions” (mixture of eolian paleoloess, pelite, paleosol, and tephra → tuffite). Obviously, unconformities and sequence boundaries of both study areas separate and dislocate interrupted ∂<sup>13</sup>C and <sup>87</sup>Sr/<sup>86</sup>Sr-data groups along the isotope curves. Both Proto-Arctic Ocean rifting/degassing comprising kimberlitic pyroclastic eruptions and Neotethys rifting/degassing as well as multiple impacting played the most important role during the Norian, followed by the incipient Central Atlantic Magmatic Provinces rifting since the Rhaetian. The following associations are encountered and dealt with in this study: Sequence boundaries-∂<sup>13</sup>C, maximum flooding surfaces-(FUCs)-∂<sup>13</sup>C, unconformities-plate motion, tephra-pelite-tuffite-montmorillonite. Norian: maximum flooding surfaces (MFSs)-“paleosol”/boundary clay?-rifting-volcanism, Moon/Earth data change. So the Norian (~221 - 206 Ma) hosts anomalous “amalgamated maximum flooding surfaces (MFSs)”, amalgamated paleosol (Jordanian Platform), multiple impacting (~219 - 214 Ma), the maximum opening of the Proto-Arctic Ocean (PAO) (~230 - 200 Ma), Neo-Tethys (NT)-subvolcanic (sills, dikes) in the NE D 展开更多

本文采用文献资料法、专家访谈法、逻辑分析法等研究方法,在探讨我国青少年身体素质和心理素质现状及青少年身体素质与心理素质协同发展意义的基础上,对青少年身体素质与心理素质之间的关系进行分析。研究认为:身体素质与心理素质是青... 本文采用文献资料法、专家访谈法、逻辑分析法等研究方法,在探讨我国青少年身体素质和心理素质现状及青少年身体素质与心理素质协同发展意义的基础上,对青少年身体素质与心理素质之间的关系进行分析。研究认为:身体素质与心理素质是青少年健康成长的重要组成部分,身体素质是前提基础,心理素质是保障机制,通过科学、适宜的体育锻炼,青少年可以提高身体素质,同时对心理素质的培养和提高大有裨益;反之,积极的心理准备和锻炼也对青少年的体育参与和身体素质大有帮助,两者是相互关联、相互影响、互动交融的,两者应当也必然朝着协同方向发展。基于此,提出了促进我国青少年身体素质与心理素质协同发展的策略:树立正确的教育观、价值观,完善科学的制度设计,树立正确的目标,选择合适的运动项目,提高相关人员的素质水平,创设良好的协同发展环境等策略。 展开更多

底流与重力流交互作用下的朵体沉积特征:以东非鲁伍马盆地中新统为例

底流与重力流的交互作用是重要的深水沉积作用类型,对海底沉积物再分配及海底地貌改造具有重要控制作用。目前对底流与水道中重力流的交互作用研究较成熟,但对底流影响下朵体的沉积特征研究较少。本研究以东非鲁伍马盆地古近系中新统朵... 底流与重力流的交互作用是重要的深水沉积作用类型,对海底沉积物再分配及海底地貌改造具有重要控制作用。目前对底流与水道中重力流的交互作用研究较成熟,但对底流影响下朵体的沉积特征研究较少。本研究以东非鲁伍马盆地古近系中新统朵体为目标,综合利用三维地震和测井资料,通过地震相和地震属性分析,确定朵体分布及内部岩性特征。在定量恢复重力流流速基础上,结合区域洋流资料,揭示底流与重力流交互作用对朵体沉积的控制作用。结果表明受向北流动的底流影响,早期水道向南迁移,北侧天然堤发育,在水道南侧形成负向地形,导致后期朵体沉积于水道南侧。底流作用下的朵体沉积特征受底流和朵体内重力流流向的影响。当底流与朵体延伸方向相反且斜交时,由于重力流流速远大于底流,朵体在逆底流流向一翼(南侧),重力流与底流流向几乎相反,底流影响被抑制,朵体从轴部向末端逐渐变薄,泥质含量增加;在顺底流流向一翼(北侧),重力流方向与底流斜交,重力流顶部泥质被底流淘洗出去,朵体以砂质沉积为主。当底流与重力流流向接近正交时,朵体受底流影响整体上一致,重力流顶部泥质被淘洗,逆底流流向一翼朵体以厚层砂质沉积为主,向顺底流流向一翼砂体厚度减小、泥质含量增加。 展开更多
