Geometry sensitivity of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) duct flow and some ab- normal phenomena deviating from the classical MHD laws were measured in an experimental investigation of the MHD effect of the flow channel i...Geometry sensitivity of magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) duct flow and some ab- normal phenomena deviating from the classical MHD laws were measured in an experimental investigation of the MHD effect of the flow channel inserter (FCI) duct flow. The results showed that the velocity distribution deviated from the M-type profile on the centre-plane of the cross section of the duct with small slots (in short "S-duct"). The electric potential difference in the duct wall was much lower than that given by the classical electromagnetic laws. The MHD pres- sure drop was much higher than that from the classical magneto-hydrodynamics theory. These results may help us find some new methods to reduce the MHD pressure drop, or explore other potential applications such as flow structure control.展开更多
The virtual prototyping models of the mechanical, hydraulic and control system of the ITER tractor were built with CATIA, ADAMS and MATLAB/Simulink respectively according to its heavy load and high precision character...The virtual prototyping models of the mechanical, hydraulic and control system of the ITER tractor were built with CATIA, ADAMS and MATLAB/Simulink respectively according to its heavy load and high precision characteristics, and the data transfer between the different models was accomplished by the integration interface between different software. Consequently the virtual experimental platform for the multi-disciplinary co-simulation was established. A co-simulation study of the mechanical-hydraulic-control coupling system of the ITER tractor was carried out. The synchronization servo control of parallel hydraulic cylinders was implemented, and the tracking control of the preconcerted trajectory of the hydraulic cylinders was realized on the established experimental platform. This paper presents the optimization design and technology rebuilding for the complicated coupling system with its theoretic foundation and co-simulation virtual experimental platform.展开更多

The resistive se...The HTS current leads of superconducting magnets for large scale fusion devices and high energy particle colliders can reduce the power consumption for cooling by 2/3 compared with conventional leads. The resistive sections of high-rated current leads are usually made of a heat exchanger cooled by gas flow. The supply of the cooling mass flow incurs more than 90% of the cooling cost for the HTS leads. The mass flow rate requirement depends not only on the length and material of the resistive heat exchanger, but also on the heat transfer coefficient and HEX surface, the joint resistance at the cold end of a sheet-stack HEX with a larger specific presented in the paper. The test results of efficiency can be achieved. and its cooling approach. The design and operation surface and a much smaller hydraulic diameter are an HTS lead optimized for 8 kA show that a 98.4%展开更多
