The research is based on 30 expositions written by the university level FSL learners with Englis...This article attempts to explore the acquisition of connectives in English expository writings, by Chinese EFL learners. The research is based on 30 expositions written by the university level FSL learners with English as L2, one cloze test, one error-correction exercise, two questionnaires and an interview. The present research is concerned with examining how well readers of different levels of English-language proficiency could understand and use a particular type of logical connectives. We are interested in how readers understand the functions of different kinds of connectives and the meaning relationships signaled by them. From the research, we are expected to know something about the learners' acquisition process and the elements that facilitate or impede learning. And both language learners and teachers will benefit from this study.展开更多
