Due to its tropical origins,rice(Oryza sativa)is susceptible to cold stress,which poses severe threats to production.OsNAC5,a NAC-type transcription factor,participates in the cold stress response of rice,but the deta...Due to its tropical origins,rice(Oryza sativa)is susceptible to cold stress,which poses severe threats to production.OsNAC5,a NAC-type transcription factor,participates in the cold stress response of rice,but the detailed mechanisms remain poorly understood.Here,we demonstrate that OsNAC5 positively regulates cold tolerance at germination and in seedlings by directly activating the expression of ABSCISIC ACID INSENSITIVE 5(OsABI5).Haplotype analysis indicated that single nucleotide polymorphisms in a NAC-binding site in the OsABI5 promoter are strongly associated with cold tolerance.OsNAC5 also enhanced OsABI5 stability,thus regulating the expression of cold-responsive(COR)genes,enabling fine-tuned control of OsABI5 action for rapid,precise plant responses to cold stress.DNA affinity purification sequencing coupled with transcriptome deep sequencing identified several OsABI5 target genes involved in COR expression,including DEHYDRATION-RESPONSIVE ELEMENT BINDING FACTOR 1A(OsDREB1A),OsMYB20,and PEROXIDASE 70(OsPRX70).In vivo and in vitro analyses suggested that OsABI5 positively regulates COR gene transcription,with marked COR upregulation in OsNAC5-overexpressing lines and downregulation in osnac5 and/or osabi5 knockout mutants.This study extends our understanding of cold tolerance regulation via OsNAC5 through the OsABI5-CORs transcription module,which may be used to ameliorate cold tolerance in rice via advanced breeding.展开更多

The high critical electric field strength of Ga_(2)O_(3)enables higher operating voltages and reduced switching losses in power electronic devices.Suitable Schottky metals and epitaxial films are essential for further...The high critical electric field strength of Ga_(2)O_(3)enables higher operating voltages and reduced switching losses in power electronic devices.Suitable Schottky metals and epitaxial films are essential for further enhancing device performance.In this work,the fabrication of vertical Ga_(2)O_(3)barrier diodes with three different barrier metals was carried out on an n--Ga_(2)O_(3)homogeneous epitaxial film deposited on an n+-β-Ga_(2)O_(3)substrate by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition,excluding the use of edge terminals.The ideal factor,barrier height,specific on-resistance,and breakdown voltage characteristics of all devices were investigated at room temperature.In addition,the vertical Ga_(2)O_(3)barrier diodes achieve a higher breakdown volt-age and exhibit a reverse leakage as low as 4.82×10^(-8)A/cm^(2)by constructing a NiO/Ga_(2)O_(3)heterojunction.Therefore,Ga_(2)O_(3)power detailed investigations into Schottky barrier metal and NiO/Ga_(2)O_(3)heterojunction of Ga_(2)O_(3)homogeneous epitaxial films are of great research potential in high-efficiency,high-power,and high-reliability applications.展开更多
Teinturier grapes are characterized by the typical accumulation of anthocyanins in grape skin,flesh,and vegetative tissues,endowing them with high utility value in red wine blending and nutrient-enriched foods develop...Teinturier grapes are characterized by the typical accumulation of anthocyanins in grape skin,flesh,and vegetative tissues,endowing them with high utility value in red wine blending and nutrient-enriched foods developing.However,due to the lack of genome information,the mechanism involved in regulating teinturier grape coloring has not yet been elucidated and their genetic utilization research is still insufficient.Here,the cultivar‘Yan73’was used for assembling the telomere-to-telomere(T2T)genome of teinturier grapes by combining the High Fidelity(HiFi),Hi-C and ultralong Oxford Nanopore Technologies(ONT)reads.Two haplotype genomes were assembled,at the sizes of 501.68 Mb and 493.38 Mb,respectively.In the haplotype 1 genome,the transposable elements(TEs)contained 32.77%of long terminal repeats(LTRs),while in the haplotype 2 genome,31.53%of LTRs were detected in TEs.Furthermore,obvious inversions were identified in chromosome 18 between the two haplotypes.Transcriptome profiling suggested that the gene expression patterns in‘Cabernet Sauvignon’and‘Yan73’were diverse depending on tissues,developmental stages,and varieties.The transcription program of genes in the anthocyanins biosynthesis pathway between the two cultivars exhibited high similarity in different tissues and developmental stages,whereas the expression levels of numerous genes showed significant differences.Compared with other genes,the expression levels of VvMYBA1 and VvUFGT4 in all samples,VvCHS2 except in young shoots and VvPAL9 except in the E-L23 stage of‘Yan73’were higher than those of‘Cabernet Sauvignon’.Further sequence alignments revealed potential variant gene loci and structure variations of anthocyanins biosynthesis related genes and a 816 bp sequence insertion was found in the promoter of VvMYBA1 of‘Yan73’haplotype 2 genome.The‘Yan73’T2T genome assembly and comparative analysis provided valuable foundations for further revealing the coloring mechanism of teinturier grapes and the genetic improvement of grape co展开更多
Information theory(IT)is the derivation and foundation of information science,and has become one of the most mature,complete and systematic components in information and communication fields within these years.This ar...Information theory(IT)is the derivation and foundation of information science,and has become one of the most mature,complete and systematic components in information and communication fields within these years.This article extends classic IT from the traditional form aspect to the semantic aspect and gives an informational perspective of semantic cognition process(SCP),which is motivated by the stringent requirements of information predigestion and machine cognition in cognitive wireless networks.To begin with,we establish three key viewpoints on semantic,which are semantic objectivity,semantic conditional uniformity and semantic dependency,as the basis and premise of this article.Next,we establish a comprehensive theoretical framework of SCP in terms of the natural connotation,the three-layer framework and the mathematical model of SCP.Then we give a couple of primary theorems of SCP as well as their practical instructions.Furthermore,the research challenges ahead are presented in this article.展开更多
