空间里的蛋白质晶体生长

摘要 生物大分子晶体生长具有重要的理论和实际意义。空间微重力环境是研究复杂的蛋白质结晶过程和生长其高质量晶体的理想地方。1992年8月,应用国内研制的装置在返回式卫星FSW—2上完成了空间蛋白质晶体生长实验。有六种蛋白质在空间长出了晶体,其中酸性磷脂酶A_2和溶菌酶的晶体明显优于地面对照实验长出的晶体。对结果的分析还在进行中。 High quality crystals of biological macromolecules are required by determination of high resolution protein structures essential for understanding of life at molecular level and for development of molecular biotechnology. Microgravity environment of space is an ideal place to study the complicated process of protein crystallization and to grow good protein crystals. In August, 1992,we carried out series of crystallization experiments of 10 different proteins on a Chinese re-entry satellite FSW-2 with a tube crystallization equipment made in China. Six proteins were crystallized in space,and crystals occured in samples from an acidic phospholi-pase A2 and lysozyme are much better than crystals grown in ground control experiments. Further analysis of the results is under way.
