摘要
阐述了邦加球法测量偏振模色散(PMD)的原理,介绍了基于改进的邦加球法开发的PMD测量系统和测量实验。该测量系统利用可旋转偏振控制器和光谱仪同时测量单模光纤中各个波长的输出偏振态,从而测量出PMD群时延差(DGD)。和传统方法相比,该系统实现了计算机控制自动测量,显著地节省了测量时间,降低了PMD随时间变化而引起的测量误差,提高了测量精度。
Automatic measuring system for polarization mode dispersion(PMD) was introduced based on improved Poincaré sphere method.The differential group delay(DGD) of PMD can quickly acquired by measuring the output state of polarization(SOP) of each wavelength at the same time.This improved method can remarkably reduce the measuring time and the error from the variation of PMD with time.This measurement is accomplished by the computer automatically.
