In this article, the distribution of titanium ore-deposit is described, the smelting principle of it elucidated, the current trends of the titanium industry summarized, the properties and main applications of titanium and its alloys presented, and the surface-treatment techniques for corrosion resistance of titanium and its alloys introduced. Finally, the current situation of the titanium industry in China is briefly described.
