摘要
洛伦佐·德·美迪奇是文艺复兴时期意大利佛罗伦萨的著名艺术赞助人。洛伦佐艺术赞助的重要性不在于他赞助的艺术作品的数量或提供的资金的多寡,而在于其艺术赞助的独特性。虽然他赞助的绘画、雕塑和建筑并不多,但他带有强烈个人趣味的艺术赞助和收藏活动,对艺术尤其是建筑艺术的真挚热爱,对老艺术家的尊重及对青年艺术才俊的大力帮助和提携等,都极大捉进了艺术的发展和艺术家社会地位的提高。
Lorenzo de Medici has been the focus of Renaissance studies.As a great patron of visual arts,the significance of his patronage lies not in the quantity but in the quality.Although sponsoring only a few buildings,paintings and sculptures directly,he lent influential supports to advance the interests of arts by his collecting activities,his enthusiasm for architecture,the respect he paid for old masters,and material and spiritual assistance he offered to young geniuses.In a word,we can say Lorenzo de Medici is a great patron of art.
