摘要
Eight artistic masters, once popular as "Yangzhou Eight Monsters", were the eight painters and calligraphers who became well-known for their eccentricity and creativity in Yangzhou, during the Qing Dynasty under emperors of Kang Xi,Yong Zheng and Qian Long. Thus, study of the "Eight Monsters" remained one of the hottest topics in China’s aesthetic circle in the 20th century. This paper attempts to summarize those studies so as to clear up its development and to compare different views.
