摘要
在全面建设小康社会的视野中对现代远程教育进行审视,从现代远程教育的矛盾与不足入手,分析发展现代远程教育的使命在于推进高等教育大众化,变人口负担为人力资源,进而搭建通向终身教育的桥梁。
Education has been attached high strategic priority in the construction of a well-off society in China.Dis - tance education,a form of education which imposes fewer time and space constraints,is capable of providing higher education to the greatest number of people.Within the popularization of higher education,distance educa - tion can come to the frontline and carry out its mission.To this end,an appropriate position should be first given to distance education.The author of this paper maintains that distance education should concentrate on the vocational and technical subjects as this can help higher education to diversify.Besides,a range of evaluation criteria should be adopted to assess educational quality.In short,the role of distance education should shift from providing qualification-bearing courses to offer - ing non-qualification-bearing courses.An ideal form of distance education should combine the philosophy of distance learning and modern tech - nologies.However,there still exist a number of problems in the development of distance education in China,which need to be solved on a macro-level.Within the popularization of higher education,modern distance education has the mission of transforming the huge Chinese population,which used to be regarded as a burden,into human resources.Distance learners can achieve all-round development through participating in life-long educational activities.
