The highlights of the 8th European Lead-acid Battery Conference (8ELBC) were discussed.The developments of (36?V)/(42?V) batteries, tubular batteries and new separators for VRLA etc. were reviewed separately. The lead-acid battery industry was at an important stage in its evolution. The lead-acid battery would do a great deal of good for the automobile market and telecom field as well.
