摘要
《黑暗昭昭》作为英国小说家威廉·戈尔丁长达10年休眠期之后发表的重要作品,揭示了二战之后英国小镇的人们,在罪恶与恐怖的余波之中荒诞异化的图景。小说中的两大主人公麦蒂与苏菲通过不同的选择,走向了全然不同的归宿。借鉴海德格尔与萨特的存在主义思想,对小说中主人公的存在状态进行了解读,探讨了小说的主题意涵。
As one of the most import novels of William Golding, Darkness Visible was published after the writer's10-year silence in 1979. It reveals British people's absurdity and alienation in the crime and terror after World War II. The two protagonists Matty and Sophy get different results through different choices. This paper attempts to interpret protagonists' existing states according to Heidegger's and Sartre's existential thoughts, and explore the theme and connotation of the novel.
