In the Small-town American literature , strangers access or intend to access the communities of small towns in America , resulting in interweaving or conflicting of various degrees between them and leading to different values change or interests distribu -tion.When powerful , the communities assimilate or expel strangers; when weak, the strangers give rise to internal unrests . Meanwhile, strangers also have the undermining power of deterritorialization to force the communities of small towns to be more open and accommodated .
