张謇作为清末状元,其一生在办实业与兴教育两方面都取得了突出的业绩。他兴办的大生集团至今仍是地方经济的骨干成份,所办的教育事业更是家乡南通的现代教育基础和源泉。在南通的社会发展史上。
As the Number One Scholar at the end of Qing Dynasty,Zhangjian achieved a lot in setting up business and institutions all through his life.Dasheng Group which was set up by Zhangjian is still the back-bone of Nantong local economy today,and the institutions which he constructed are still the foundation and resources to Nantong education.In the history of Nantong,nobody did the same as him.
