摘要
通过解析反恐话语中常用的象征、概念、代码等 ,揭示了西方媒体长期以来一直在妖魔化伊斯兰和穆斯林。认为西方媒体对伊斯兰和穆斯林的妖魔化和简约化加深了西方和伊斯兰世界之间业已存在的鸿沟 ,在相互理解的问题上误导民众。据此 ,强烈抨击“文明冲突”论。并指出 ,在世界变得日益全球化的今天 ,那些强调和谐与“和而不同”的东方古训更显其无与伦比的恒久价值。
Through analyzing meanings and implications of certain symbols, concepts, and code words that have featured in the discourse of anti-terrorism in the west, this article examines how the western media has demonized Islam and Muslims. It is argued that the demonization and generalization the western media make of Islam and Muslims only further deepens the gap between the West and the Islamic world as well as misleads peoples to understand one another. This article attacks the theory of “clash of civilizations” on its disregarding what different peoples may share in common and suggests that the ideas about harmony and cultural understanding, legacies from the ancient thinkers in the East, are invaluable, especially, when our world happens to be increasingly globalized.
