摘要
本文基于系统功能语言学中的概念隐喻理论,对朱自清散文《背影》的两篇英译文进行语法隐喻角度的分析,旨在揭示汉英翻译中语义和意境在两种语码间的转换问题。分析表明,语法隐喻理论在研究汉英翻译过程中确实有一定的说服力和解释力。英译文的难点不仅在于要如实传达汉语原文的语义,更在于形象地再现原文的意境。
This paper is an attempt to study the essay The sight of father’s backby Zhu Ziqing and its translated versions from the perspective of ideational grammatical metaphor in systemic functional linguistics. The two underlying purposes of this study are:(1) to show how an ideational grammatical metaphor theory can provide insight to the study of translation,esp. in balance of meaning and image; and (2) to test the applicability of ideational grammatical metaphor theory in discourse analysis and translation studies.
