STUDIES ON THE LIFE CYCLE AND GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION OF PARAGONIMUS SKRJABINI CHEN IN CHINA

摘要 斯氏并殖(Paragonimus skrjabini)是陈心陶(1959)描述的,寄生在广东果子狸(Pagu-ma larvata)体内。目前已知这是我国独特的肺吸虫,亦是我国十分重要的肺吸虫病原。斯氏并殖引起的肺吸虫病主要以童虫窜扰人体内脏和皮下组织,而导致全身的临床症状,其中以皮下游走性结节较为常见,并以肝脏受害和脑型病变最为严重。我国至今报告的斯氏肺吸虫病的流行区遍及长江南北流域12个省市,成为我国农村劳动人民的大害。 Paragonimus skrjabini which was described by Chen (1959) from the civet cat, Paguma larvata, in Canton is an important etiologic agent of Paragonimiasis in China. The auther, in a previous publication, reported on the epidemiology and biology of Paragonimiasis in Jian-ou district, Fujian. The present article denls with the developmental cycle of Paragonimus skrjabini in Fujian and its geographical distribution in China. The fresh eggs of Paragonimus skrjabini are more symmestrical in shape, measuring 68.4-86.4 μ by 43.2-54.0 μ (av. 81.8×47.9 μ) in size. At room tem- perature ranging from 27°to 32℃ the development of egg embryo to a mature miracidium required 15 days after incubation, but they majorly hatched at 16- 18 days. The miracidiaare oval or spindle in shape and measure 79.2-100.8 μ×46.8- 61.2 μ(av. 90μ×54μ) in size. It is covered with four rows of ciliated epidermal plates arranged as 6,6,3,1 in formula with 16 in total platenumbers. The fully developed sporocyst obtained from the infected Tricula snail at 37 days after infection, having a size of 0.459-0.493mm in length and 0.119- 0.221mm in width. At the anterior tip of the sporocyst it has a birth pore which had never been observed in other known species of Paragonimus by prev- ious authers. The early first generation redia was first found in the snail host within 37 days after infection, but the mature mother rediae were obtained at the end of 45 days. The mature mother rediae were rectangular in shape with a typically truncated posterior end. The fully developed one measures 0.442mm by 0.153mm in size with the primitive gut 0.136mm in length and 0.102mm in width. It contains 2-3 active daughter rediae and 4-6 germ bails. The second generation rediae were first seen in the snail host 45 days after infection. The fully developed daughter rediae containing active mature cerca- riae were found from 65 to 68 days after infection. They measure 0.816-0.918mm in length by 0.187-0.272mm in width with the relatively short primitive gut being 0.051
