摘要
地质调查所是中国近代科技史上最重要和最有影响的科学机构之一,然而关于该所的历史沿革仍有不少语焉不详之处。文章依据历史文献尤其是政府公报,论证了地质调查所成立日期应从1913年算起,而不是1916年;详细考察了该所隶属关系及内部机构的历次演变情形;考证了所长翁文灏、黄汲清等人的任职时间等问题。
The Bureau of National Geological Survey is one of the most important and influential scientific institutions in the history of modern science and technology of China,but quite many statements about its history are rather too brief or sketchy. On the basis of historical documents,especially government bulletins,this article proves that the year of foundation of the bureau should be 1913 and not 1916;investigates in detail what organization the bureau is subordinate to and its various internal changes;and does research on the tenure of office of Dr.Wong Wenhao and Huang Jiqing as directors of the bureau.
