摘要
诗歌的语言是形象性的语言，而这种形象性常常是通过巧妙的修辞得以表现的。意象、联想、象征是英诗中常用的修辞手法，本文对它们作了简单介绍，并结合对某些诗歌的欣赏进行了阐述，最后得出结论：要真正理解一首诗的内容，必须准确把握其中的修辞手法。
Poetry conveys ideas by means of images, and poetic language is figurative. In order to lend force to an idea, to highten effect, of to create suggestive imagery, poets like to write their poems in terms of image, association,symbolism, etc,.Here is a brief account of them and a simple analysis along with the appreciation of some poems.The conclusion is :Correctly grasping image, association, symbolism is very important in appreciation English poems.
