摘要
清末新政时期,清政府积极与英国进行鸦片交涉,迫使英国答应10年内逐步减少向中国输入鸦片,直至完全停止。这是清政府外交史上的一次重大胜利,有力地促进了国内禁烟运动的开展。
In the newpolicy period of the late Qing Dynasty, the Qing Government actively carried on negotiation with British Government on opium. The British Government was forced to promise to reduce gradually the opium import to China within ten years until it was completely stopped which was a great victory in the history of diplomacy of the Qing Dynasty and greatly promoted the antiopium movement of that time in China.
