摘要
本文通过对诗词翻译一般规则的回顾和对李清照“声声慢”的第一阕的翻译赏析 ,指出在这首词的翻译中应该多用单音节的低频率字以传达词人高贵和孤独的情绪 ,同时尽量保证音节总量的平衡 ,避免做过多阐释性翻译 。
This article argues for a new approach to the translation of Li Qingzhao's famous ci 'Slow slow tune'. On the basis of a discussion on techniques of translation in general and of a review of available English renditions of Li's piece, the author proposes that more monosyllabic and low-frequency words be employed in the translation of Li's poem, so as to convey effectively the dignified loneliness the ci in the original expresses. As an exemplar of the proposed new approach, the author offers a new English version of the same ci.
