Investigation of the Dating Method of Most Recent Activities of Faults

摘要 活断层年代研究,其最后一次断层活动的年代确定是至关重要的。确定断层活动年代的方法很多,本文介绍两种,即热释光法和矿物表面形貌结构法。热释光测年要求断层泥在最后一次断层活动中其剩余热释光强度回零,但至今仍没有这方面的可靠证据。实际上,断层活动复杂多样,可能部分回零,部分不回零,这就要求采样过程中注意观察,力求采集到与最后一次断层活动相关的断层泥。此外,断层泥表面形貌结构的研究也是必不可少的,每一次新的活动都可能会破坏它先前的固有结构,而重新在断层泥中留下新的结构。因而断层泥表面形貌结构可以提供断层最后一次活动的信息。所以要得到断层最后一次活动的真实年龄,应该从以上两方面着手,每一环节都不可忽视。 The determination of the latest fault activity age is very important in active fault stud-ies.Among many methods for dating fault activities,this paper describes two of them,i.e.,thermoluminescence method and mineral surface texture method.The thermolumi-nescence dating method requires that the residual thermoluminescent intensity of the fault gouge was zero in the last fault activity,which has not yet been proved by reliable evi-dence.In the reality fault activities are complex,some may return to zero,while some may not.Therefore caution must be taken in sampling to ensure that the gouge relevant to the last fault activity is sampled.Furthermore,the investigation of gouge surface texture is necessary.Each fault activity may destruct previous texture and leave new texture on fault gouge;hence the surface texture can also provide information on the last fault activity.To retrieve the true age of last fault activity,beth of the above aspects is negligible.
