The paper introduces the basis, standards, methods and instruments of monitoring harmful gases encountered during the Huayingshan gas tunnel construction. Comprehensive countermeasures including gathering and discharge of harmful gases, ventilation, protection, gas stop by grouting, air tightness concrete, and so on, are discussed.
