中国英语学习者话语中交界停顿模式探析

An Exploration on Juncture Pause Pattern in Chinese EFL Learners' Spontaneous Speech

摘要 本文以中国英语学习者语音数据库(ESCCL)中随机抽取的30组对话为研究对象,对学习者自发话语中的交界停顿模式进行了分析。研究发现,越大的句法结构间,越容易出现停顿且停顿时间更长;学习者在话轮转换处停顿次数较多且时间较长;在分句间、句子间和话轮间均出现了较大比例的长时间停顿。借助于Nakane(2007)提出的影响二语者跨文化交际中沉默的二维模型,从语言学角度对研究结果进行了分析。本研究对英语口语教学有一定参考意义。 Taking 30 dialogues chosen randomly from ESCCL corpus,this paper tries to analyze the juncture pause pattern in Chinese EFL learners' spontaneous speech. The findings are as follows: the larger the sentence structure,the more easily pauses occur and the longer the pause duration last; learners pause much and the duration is long in turn-taking; large percentage of long pauses appears between clauses,sentences and turns. Basing on the two-dimensional model( put forward by Nakane in 2007) about factors affecting silence in classroom intercultural communication,this paper tries to make an explanation on the results from the linguistic domain. The study may have some reference value in oral English teaching.
