摘要
这篇文章是我计划写作的一本关于亚洲流行音乐研究的书籍的概要,其主要观点在于阐明,流行音乐在亚洲已经逐渐形成一个研究领域。流行音乐在今天表现出突出的理论主题,比如文化与政治、性别与身份、亚洲内部文化流动等等,这与曾经在亚洲特定区域暂时性或者周期性出现的流行音乐现象或趋势,例如20世纪80年代风靡的日本流行音乐、90年代在东亚和南亚粤语歌的流行以及音乐产业在90年代后期的全球化特征,迥然相异。这篇文章力图指出在亚洲流行音乐研究中的一些重要概念、主题、方法和路径,最终希望能够辨别出那些对亚洲而言更有针对性的研究路径方法。
This paper aims to serve as a proposal for a proposed book on Asian popular music studies.It argues that in Asia,popular music studies have slowly crystallized into a field or area for studies.Instead of temporarily or periodically uprising of pop music phenomenon or trends in some specific regions in Asia—including the rise of Jpop in the 80 sin the region,the popularity of Cantopop in the 90 sacross south east Asia,the globalization of music industries in the late 90s—prominent theoretical themes include culture and politics,gender and identity,interAsia cultural flow,to name a few,have been clearly emerged.This paper aims to map out some important concepts,themes,methods and approaches in Asian popular music studies and ultimately hope to identify approaches that are more unique in Asia.
