Thorough study is made to the temperature rise and loss of life for the traction transformer. Influencing factors are listed andsuggestions are given on the full capacity exploitation of traction transformer. Finally pointed out is that by improve the capacity availabilitythe railway transportation cost might be reduced. The proposal is practical.
