摘要
CAS is the highest academic organ in natural sciences and a nationalmulti-disciplinary center for science and high-tech development in China. It is not only a keycomponent in the national system of S&T research and development, but also a vehicle for thepopularization of S&T knowledge. Acting as a think tank and database, it is endowed with key dutiesin spreading scientific knowledge, encouraging scientific spirit, and giving publicity to scientificideas and related methodology. Over the past 50-odd years since its founding, CAS scientists havemade substantial contributions to the popular science work and S&T knowledge dissemination.
