A novel and compact high-voltage nanosecond pulser is produced, which can be used in the Pulsed Electro-acoustic(PEA) measuring apparatus. In the nanosecond pulser, the original main frequency power rectifier and wet reed relay are substituted by switching dircuit and spark gap, respectively. It is the result that the weight of power source is reduced by a factor of 5 and the capacity becomes much smaller. Itcan generate adjustable voltage pulses 20 ns in width and 2 000 V in amplitude.
