摘要
研制成一种新型声光器件,它能在一个声光介质内形成相互正交的行波和驻波超声场,因此具有Q开关和调制锁模双重功能。若将之插入连续YAG激光器谐振腔内便可同时实现调Q/锁模运转。由于减少了一个声光元件,腔内插入损耗大大减小,从而使激光系统的输出特性获得显著改善,增加了调Q锁模光脉冲的输出功率,同时简化了激光系统。
A new type of acoustic-optic device has been successfully developed which can form an ultrasonic field consisting of a travelling wave ultrasonic field perpendicular to a standing wave ultrasonic field in an acoustic-optic medium and therefore, possessing a double function of both Q-switching and mode locking. If it is placed in a CW Nd: YAG laser cavity Q-switching and mode locking can be performed simultaneously. The input loss in the cavity can be greatly reduced as the acousto-optic device is reduced to only one, resulting in a considerable improvement of the output characteristic of the laser system and an increase in the power of Q-switching/mode locking light pulse. The laser system is also simplified.
