Separation of Rhodium and Iridium by Pressure Hydrogen

摘要 用加压氢还原分离铑铱,考察了温度、氢压、反应时间、铑铱浓度比和氯离子浓度等因素对选择性还原铑的影响,指出本法可用于从大量铱中分离少量铑。 The separation of rhodium and iridium with the method of the selective reduction of rhodium by pressure hydrogen in hydrochloric acid solution was studied, The effects of temperature, hydrogen pressure, reaction time, the ratio of initial rhodium to iridium concentrations and chlorin concentration had been investigated. The results show that the factors mentioned above have strong influence on the reduction of iridium but have hardly influence on rhodium. Under a certain condition, the rate of the rhodium reduced by hydrogen is>99.7% and the rhodium concentration in the residual solution is<0.001g/L, but the rate of the iridium reduced is <2%. Therefore, the method can be industrially used in the separation of rhodium and iridium for the substances in which the quantity of iridium is larger than or near equal to that of rhodium. The paper has discussed the mechanism of the separation and explain the reason of a little of iridium being reduced with rhodium.
