A thorough investigation on the constitution of Mn-Ga alloys has been made by means of X-rays incorporated with differential thermal analysis. The system appears to be important in that highly ferromagnetic alloys have been found in the Mn-Al system near the equiatomic composition after special treatment, and Ga belongs to the same group as Al in the periodic table.
