摘要
介绍了19世纪下半叶中国出版的汉译西方数学著作在日本的流传情况,重点论述和讨论了《数学启蒙》和《代微积拾级》这两部数学著作的流播对当时日本数学的影响,认为汉译西方数学著作对于日本吸收和消化西方近代数学以及日本数学从传统向近代的转变都起了重要作用.
The present paper deals with the introduction of the Chinese versions of the western mathematical works to Japan and its influence on mathematics in Japan.The authors of the paper investigate all kinds of existing handwriting versions,Japanese translations and rewritten versions of Chinese translations of western mathematical works,which appeared in Japan from the end of Bakumatsu period to the early Meiji one.The versions were widespread among mathematicians in Japan in the latter of 19th century.It promoted the popularization of western mathematics in Japan and transformation of Japanese mathematics from traditional mathematics to modern mathematics.Shuxue Qimen(数学启蒙,Introduction to western mathematical Studies,written by A.Wlie) and Daiweiji Shiji(代微积拾级,Chinese translation of Elias Loomis'Elements of Analytical Geometry and of Differential and Integral Calculus),as two typical Chinese versions of western mathematical works introduced to Japan,are especially discussed in detail.And the reasons that Chinese versions of western mathematical works can be widespread in Japan is also analyzed.
