摘要
裘帕·拉希莉长篇小说《低地》不同于其他着重描写移民流散的小说偏爱从文化冲击角度刻画人物的奋斗历程,而是将笔触更多地集中于人物之间的微妙关系以及移民本身心理在身份建构中的变化。本文从他者的角度窥观人物在疏离过程中产生的心理和观念上的变化。从他者在疏离中的无力感和身份建构的失败着重分析他者疏离的表现。最后在全球化的背景下,他者根据自身经历尝试挪用自我与世界,进行他们没有确定结果,没有明确重点的身份构建。
The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri is different from other diaspora novels, which prefer depicting the life courses of the characters from the angle of cultural clashes. Rather, it concentrated on the subtle connections between people and the psychological changes in the construction of their identity. This article studies the changes in psychology and perspectives of the Other in the process of alienation in the Lowland and analyzed the powerlessness and the failure of the building of an absolute identity. Under globalization, the Other tried to appropriate between self and the world, only to find that an absolute identity is impossible.
