A method for creating 3D model of route is presented,which generates DEM to describe terrain,uses cross, bridge and tunnel data to build the 3D model of bed, bridge and tunnel, and merges terrain and the 3D models to form a overall 3D model of route. The 3D model of route can be realized with the integration of 3DS MAX and AutoCAD.
