摘要
网络路径的有效带宽是计算机网络性能评价与流量工程中QoS验证中重要的度量参数 ,可广泛应用于根据网络条件进行视频分层传输、区分服务中的带宽分配、服务器选址和拥塞控制中 .但由于有效带宽不仅与路径的链路带宽有关 ,而且随背景流量改变而动态变化 ,这使得端到端有效带宽的测量相当困难 .从Cruz流量模型出发 ,提出有效带宽的估计可以通过对流量进行延时分析实现 ,给出了有效带宽估计的边界 ,并分析了实际测量中可能遇到的问题和解决办法 .
The available bandwidth of a network is one of significant metrics in both performance evaluation of computer network and QoS verification in traffic engineering.It can be widely used in many applications related to the change of network conditions,such as vedio layer transmission,bandwidth distribution in differenciate services,server selection and congestion control.However,available bandwidth is not only related to link bandwidth,but also changes dynamically with the cross traffic in the path.This makes it difficult to measure end-to-end available bandwidth efficiently.This paper proposes an approach to estimate available bandwidth in the view of traffic model to perform delay analysis and gives the bound of the estimation value of available bandwidth.And the problems and solutions in the measurement implementation are also analysized.
