文学及电影中的牛仔只是虚构的小说化形象，与真实存在过的牛仔大相径庭。通过对历史及众多资料的整理、归纳，披露了牛仔的真实情况。
The cowboy, as a great national hero, a romantic western hero on horseback, has left an enduring impression in people's mind. The myth of cowboy is revealed in this paper through the analyses of American history and a large quantity of materials about cowboy. The cowboy's fictional figure is completely different from the real cowboy.
