Objective To explore the clinical curative effect of pneumatic ballistic lithotripsy via nephroscope and provide a reliable basis for clinical treatment of ureteral calculi. Methods 50 inpatients with ureteral calculi in our hospital between September2013 and April 2014 as the study group and other 50 patients in the same period as control group were enrolled and were treated with either pneumatic ballistic lithotripsy via nephroscope or extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy. The overall effective rates,one-time success rates of lithotripsy, complications, patient's satisfaction were compared between the two methods. Results The overall effective rate(98.00% vs 86.00%) and one-time success rate of lithotripsy with higher in the study group than in the control group, and there were statistically significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05). Good recovery was obtained in both the two groups with 1 case of mild abdominal pain and none complication. Research showed that the total satisfaction rate was higher in the study group than in the control group with statistically significant difference(P <0.01). Conclusion Pneumatic ballistic lithotripsy via nephroscope, which shows higher overall effective rate, one-time success rate of lithotripsy, less complications, safety and reliability, is superior to extracorporeal shock-wave lithotripsy in treating ureteral calculi, and is worthy of promotion.
