摘要
《梦娜在希望之乡》描写了移民美国的华裔家庭张家两代人于上世纪六七十年代的生存状态及面对美国多族裔的社会环境,主人公张家女儿梦娜在身份认同方面的成长历程。该文从离散研究视角探讨张家两代人在处理与故国关系时的不同表现,对此现象从心理、社会和历史层面进行剖析,反映出美国离散华裔在身份认同方面所面临的特殊困境。
MonainthePromisedLanddepicts the existence of a Chinese-American immigrant family in the 1960s and the 1970s and Mona's experience of growth and identification in America as a multi-ethnic society. From the perspective of diasporan study, this paper probes into the two generations'different handling of their relationship with homeland China and attempts to explain it in psychological, social and historical context with a view to reveal the particular predicament of the Chinese diaspora in the pro-cess of identification.
