摘要
文化是语言教学中不可分割的一部分,而教材作为教学内容的重要依据和来源在教学过程中同样举足轻重。把握教材的文化脉络,搭建不同文章之间、不同思想之间的桥梁能够让学生在学习过程中做到"文脉"在心,按图索骥,对基础英语的教学具有积极的指导意义。该文以《现代大学英语精读》教材为例,分析了其中的文化脉络并阐述了其对于基础英语教学的指导意义。
Culture is an indispensable part in language teaching.Textbook,being the essential basis and resource of the teachingcontent,also plays a crucial role.Grasping the textbook's cultural context by bridging different texts and different ideas can helpthe students find out the essence of the textbook with the guidance of the'cultural context 'in their minds;therefore it is of signifi-cance in essential English teaching.Through a case study of Contemporary College English Intensive Reading,this paper analyzesthe cultural context in the textbook and illustrates its guiding significance in elementary English teaching.
