摘要
夸张是英语中常用的一种修辞方式,为了达到强调或滑稽效果有意言过其实。该文旨在从语用角度详细介绍英语语用特点和语用功能,并且探讨在英汉语言语用差异下对英语夸张翻译所采用的技巧。
Hyperbole is a common figure of speech which exaggerates the truth deliberately in order to achieve some rhetorical effects.This paper tries to adopt pragmatic perspective to make an analysis of English hyperbole and shed some new light on translation of English hyperbole as well.The pragmatic characteristics and functions of English hyperbole are first studied in details.Then different translation methods of English hyperbole are explored according to the different pragmatic contexts between English and Chinese.
