摘要
Sylvia Plath is a major representative of the American confessional poetry. Her idiosyncratic poetry and her suicide in1963 aroused an intensive interest and study on her and her poems that hasn't subsided until now. This paper tries to explore the so-called Sylvia Plath myth and analyzes the various factors that molded her extreme psychology, theme and style by Lacanian psychoanalytic approach.
