厄纳斯特·海明威(1899-1961)是一战以后美国文坛的著名小说家之一。《一个干净、明亮的地方》是他早期写的一个短篇小说,这篇小说虽然字数不多,但却显示了他深邃的思想和凝练的风格,自出版问世以来,许多研究者对该小说从不同的角度,运用不同的文学理论进行解读,从而从不同侧面揭示了海明威的作品内涵,充分展示了其"冰山理论"的丰富性。这里运用结构主义二元对立的方法,试图通过现象入手,挖掘其普遍而又深刻的思想内容。
Ernest Hemingway(1889-1961) was one of the most influential novelists in American literature.A Clean,Well-lighted Place is one of his short novels written in his early years.Although there are not many words in the novel,it shows his profound thought and refined style.Since its publication,it has been studied by many researchers from different angles and through different literary theories.Therefore,the connotation of Hemingway's works has been dug out from different aspects,fully displaying the richness of his'Iceberg Theory'.Here,by using the approach of binary opposition of structuralism,this author tries to delve out its universal and deep thoughts from its phenomena.
